Arrangements for Erith School for 30th March and 16th April, 2012

Friday, 30th March
Periods 1 and 2 will run as normal and students will be dismissed shortly afterwards.  Welling students are expected to remain at Welling school for the remainder of the day.  Erith students are also expected to still attend lessons at Welling.

Monday, 16th April 
Lessons at Erith will start Period 3.  If Welling students have lessons at Erith during that time they need to register as usual at Welling and use Periods 1 and 2 for study time

ASSEMBLY NOTICES

1.                 Halloween Party- payments by Friday. Plus ones need to go through Miss Beer or will not be permitted.
2.                 Deposits by Friday- £5. Please support. Very few people now, not given them in. Please ‘do your bit’
3.                 Do not leave the buliding at  unauthorized times. There will be  SPOT CHECKS
4.                  dress code- concern raised
5.                 Any Year 12s who are interested in being a prefect, please come to a meeting in the sixth form common room at 8.15am on Thursday.
6.                 HE/FE surgery- under 10 people have replied. Please get your slip in to us asap!
7.                 You can not drop subjects now. It is too late to change. Any concerns need to be raised with the subject teacher, department head and then Mrs. Gordon-Smart

Assembly Notices

020 8304 8531 This number should now be saved to your phones it is imperative that you all call this number to advise us if you are going to be absent or late. Communication is key! Absent letters will be sent if no contact is received by 10am or we have had to chase you up. If you do not want a letter, then be more organised and communicative.

Final two weeks of school- different workshops happening. We need reply slips back if you wish to come on the two uni taster trips and farm day is compulsory.

No holidays should be taken at any point in term time. It will be unauthorised and will affect your attendance figure.

No one can drop a subject now. It is essential to wait for the results before you put all your eggs in one basket.

New subjects- Year 12 get priority, then Erith, then year13/14 students. Please remember this. If you are interested in a new subject, please speak with your tutor or Miss Beer.

HE EVENING Tuesday 28th June - IT IS COMPULSORY. Registers will be taken.  You need to return your slip letting Miss Beer know how many places you would like please.

Assembly Notices

  1. FASHION SHOW in aid of trip to Zambia- please see Mrs Killington if you would like to model and if you would like to come and watch . £5.00 price of tickets- its in two weeks time.11th May
  2. Take Me Out- next Wednesday- please come and support!
  3. UCAS Trip- meet Elsa just outside main school office quietly at 11am. If you are not there, we will go!
  4. Year 12- in every day and as soon as exams are finished A2 start. Day off before the exam, that’s it!
  5. Year 13- MUST be in PSHE next Tuesday- last session with Mr Allen and myself. Few missing this week, please all be there next week or it wont be the last session!
  6. Tuesdays from after next week- year 13 come in only for their lessons. Tutors will mark year 13 as B.
  7. Any year 13 doing 2 arts – from next week, they only need to come in for their exams and for their lessons. Please can tutors mark as B.
  8. All other year 13s remain in school at all times until week before ½ term- Monday 23rd May 2011
  9. Wednesday 6th July-2pm year 13 leavers assembly
  10. Thursday 7th July- Summer Ball- money needed asap!
  11. LCC- Summer school for year 12- keep a look out
  12. O2 summer school- all correspondence should now go direct to you, not to EBeer first.
  13. Absence- been around the 91% mark. Should be 100% now unless there really is an issue

Notices

NO ASSEMBLY ON MONDAY DUE TO EXAM IN P2

Year 12 to sign up to express interest in university fayre in March/April time.

Well done to all sixth form for their politeness to Gill, our cafe manager! Particularly thanks to Alex Flynn and Jay Jervis who have had hour long conversations with her. Also well done to SAM MONTGOMERY and JAMES HARRINGTON for providing the most business so far!

There will be teachers popping into get their lunch and coffee and I really appreciate sixth form support on this. It is easier for many staff in that building to pop in instead of going to canteen. Please can sixth formers be patient with this and understanding.


Football Game- hope it went well and the boys won!


TUESDAY PSHE- Everyone in the hall- years 12 and 13

From next week, the PSHE sessions will be taught in tutor groups with year 12 and 13 mixed. Ms Beer will be revealing groups a little later.

THURSDAY CHARITY EVENT- BRING SOME MONEY TO ASSEMBLY ON THURSDAY AS THE BOYS WILL BE GETTING THEIR LEGS WAXED! VERY EXCITING!

Assembly: Monday 4th October

  1. THANK YOU for all the help on Open Day. Please ensure your name is on the list if you took part. I have got most names but there were one or two of you that did not sign the list and deserve recognition too!
  2. Please check your options. Few people have dropped options. We must get this right!
  3. PSHE TOMORROW- Mr Chat’s class go to room as normal. All of Year 13 go to the LRC. The rest of year 12 please head to the hall at 8.45am tomorrow to help guide year 6 parents around.
  4. Quiz night this Thursday- please come and support.
  5. CITY WALK- Please see me briefly today. Sonal Rabadia and Michael Selby are reserves. Unless I call you tonight, you will not be needed.
  6. Skills for London and Southbank trips are now closed. It is too late to give in your forms.
  7. Christmas Ball-promises made to hand in money. …… by Wednesday please. Extra tickets will now be sold at Bexleyheath  so there’s no chance of getting them the week before now.
  8. Absence- please e mail early/phone and leave message FOR MISS BEER. Please also e mail subject teachers.
  9. Trips- not needed for every trip. Prioritise. Some are free , some are not!
  10. Common Room- keep it tidy.
