FREE TICKETS

free tickets for students or educators to a Q and A this Thursday with graphic designer Brian Cannon. He was a big part of the Britpop scene and will be sharing tales and tips here at the British Music Experience on the 3rd March at 7:30.

It’s especially relevant for anyone studying or teaching the business side of the music industry so If you or any students you know would like a ticket just send your names to events@britishmusicexperience.com with 'FREE Brian Cannon' in the title and we’ll allocate on a first come first served basis.

More details below, if you can’t make this one check out our Visual Identity series exploring the influence of professions such as design and photography on the music industry.

Not only is Brian Cannon a designer, Photographer and art director, but he also has band management and music video direction to his name. In the 90’s Brian’s Company Microdot had substantial influence over the visual for the Brit Pop Movement. Designing covers for Oasis, The Verve and Ash all of which were number one albums, as well as album covers, Cannon has worked on logos and typography, and Microdot as a company has worked with esteemed clients and artists such as Levi’s, Groove Armada and Suede.

The Sutton Trust Summer Schools provide a great (and entirely free, including travel) opportunity to spend a week at the University: http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/year12summerschools/.  Applications close on 10 March, but there’s still time for them to register and they don’t consider any applications until the deadline has passed.
