Aimhigher Opportunities - from Bexley Aimhigher

On 5th May King's College will be holding a screening of the National Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of Frankenstein. This was filmed live and we have secured exclusive rights to screen it. The screening will run from 1-5 on Thursday 5th May and will incorporate a break and refreshments.

We are also pleased to offer Uni on the Radio workshops. These half-day workshops are delivered by Connor Walsh, who formerly worked for the BBC, and incorporate an interactive workshop run by Connor and supported by student ambassadors, refreshments and a campus tour. The workshops involve pupils interviewing a student ambassador to learn more about every aspect of university life, and developing this interview into a radio broadcast. The workshops are suitable for up to 30 pupils and can be arranged at a time and date to suit you. Dates we currently have available include (but are not limited to): 17th, 19th, 24th and 26th May.

London South Bank University are offering an Easter School in Law and Forensic Science for year 12 students from 26th-28th April.

Bexley are now linked with Mansfield College, Oxford and details about their outreach and WP programmes can be found at: http://www.mansfield.ox.ac.uk/prospective/working-with-schools-and-colleges.html

Goldsmiths are hosting a Photography summer school for year 12 students from 18th-21st July.

And finally, if any of your students have applied to volunteer at the 2012 Olympic games you may be interested in the University of Greenwich's "Games Challenge Language & Culture Awareness Training" in French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. The programme is tailored for Games volunteers and designed to develop their second language skills to prepare for, participate in and contribute to the 2012 Games.
